Rolling Into Dallas – EaglesFanCast 224

At the Eagles BYE week, just past the mid-point of the season, we see the Philadelphia Eagles with a 8-1 record. The Birds have won seven straight games, and have not lost a game to a team in the NFC or the NFC East. Their last three games they have won by a margin of 28 points (over Denver Broncos 51-23), 23 points (over San Francisco 49ers 33-10), and 10 points (over Washington Redskins 34-24). They are getting better as the season is going, despite four starters gone for the year.

This week is Dallas, though. A crucial game with potential playoff ramifications. Everything points to the Eagles winning this game, especially with the odd turmoil the Cowboys organization seems to be in lately. But this is the NFL, where any team seems to be able to win each week. I mean, even the Giants won a game this season.

We were all over the place in this episode, though, with not so quiet confidence in this team and what they can do. Already talking playoffs after nine games? When was the last time we had that luxury? We are all just enjoying it right now.

Philly Sportscasting – EaglesFanCast 193

EaglesFanCast Podcast

The Philadelphia Eagles were off this week, and for our BYE Week show, we have a reunion of sorts with the hosts of the podcast formerly known as Philly Sportscast!  Dave, Derek, and E-money join us to talk about the state of the Eagles at the BYE, where we think the team will do the rest of the season, the mentality of the Eagles fan, and what this team has to do moving forward.

Sam Bradford, Chip Kelly, McNabb, Mark Sanchez, Andy Reid, and DeMarco Murray were all hot topics in this disjointed and frequently loud conversation among Eagles fans.  One thing we all agree on is that this week in Dallas is the whole season for the Eagles, as the team cannot afford to lose another NFC East game.  We also give our predictions, talk about New Jersey, Bucks County PA, and hear a story about L.A.

One last thing, Dallas sucks, and the Eagles win.

This is Fun – EaglesFanCast 168

EaglesFanCast PodcastSo, the New York Giants travel down the New Jersey Turnpike after a week of talking trash about the Eagles, come into Lincoln Financial Field and stomp on our Eagles logo…. then absolutely get whomped by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in front of a national audience.  The Eagles, all in black, shut out the Giants, 27-0.  The last time an Eagles team shut out an opponent was 18 years ago (again it was the Giants).  This was way overdue, and it was overdue that the team came to full dominance on both sides of the ball.  Not to be out-done, Special Teams still had a partial blocked punt in the game, which they continue to shine week after week.  On Offense, quarterback Nick Foles looked better, but still has some fixing to do, as he threw two horrible interceptions, that in a normal game could have been costly.  I say “normal game” because the Eagles Defense absolutely man-handled the Giants Offensive Line, sacking Giants QB Eli Manning 8 times!!  Three of those sacks were recorded by Connor Barwin, and two by Vinny Curry.  The Defense played as great as they could, keeping the entire Giants Offense off-balance the entire game, and it was a great sight to see.  Even at the end of the game, when the Giants desperately did everything they could to get within Field Goal range… even using all three of their timeouts within the last 1:10 of regulation (douche move, Coughlin!!), the Defense was there to complete the shutout, and fully shut the lights out in the Blackout Game Sunday night.  Almost 70,000 fans were out of their minds, except for these two guys.  LOL

It was a great game, with a great ending, in a great stadium, surrounded by the greatest fans in the world.
