The Philadelphia Eagles take apart the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 33-14 in Philadelphia this week. Quarterback Donovan McNabb returns from his rib injury, Jeremiah Trotter returns to the team, and Jeremy Maclin has a phenomenal game playing for the injured Kevin Curtis. The win wasn’t without some negativity, but the Offense put together a solid game and helped Head Coach Andy Reid move to 11-0 after the BYE week.
What we discussed:
Eagles beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 33-14, but although satisfying, it wasn’t fun to watch throughout
The game was frustrating because of the amount of penalties, poor officiating and just how bad Tampa Bay is
We talk about the play of McNabb, Westbrook, Maclin, Celek and more
Andy Reid’s rumored contract extension, and he is now 11-0 after the BYE

Steve from the UK put together 10 years of stats in a spreadsheet and has been analyzing the hell out of it showing how much Eagles fans love their football
We tried something new this week, as we incorporated a live chat during the show recording. We wanted to get a live chat going so people could interact and participate while we record. Then we realized that it would make more sense if you could hear what we were talking about. So we configured a channel over at ustream. We tested it out, and it was a success, and we had a bunch of people in the chat room checking out the scene and we only let people know a few minutes beforehand! Awesome time, thanks to everyone who came and visited.
We’ll be doing this each week when we record from now on since the live feedback was all positive. Bookmark our channel at http://ustream.tv/channel/EaglesFanCast, and register for an account, so you can join in the chat!
The Philadelphia Eagles take a BYE week, but we are still talking all about the Birds this week, and it’s an even bigger show as Jason from Bleeding Green Nation joins us again. All the usual suspects (McNabb, Vick, Kolb, Westbrook, Trotter) are the topics of our conversation as we sort out where the Eagles are at this early point in the season.
Show Notes: Episode 37 for Tuesday, October 21, 2008
Our Philadelphia Eagles have a much-needed BYE week, but we’re not taking off. In fact, we’re stepping it up a notch, as we have Jason from Bleeding Green Nation with us to talk about all things Eagles this season.
What we discussed:
The Eagles sign FB Kyle Eckel and cut S J.R. Reed
We talk about the Fullback situation this season
Offense troubles in the Red Zone
Brian Westbrook, Kevin Curtis and Reggie Brown are all practicing and all look to be back against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday
Cowboys smack talk on their pathetic loss to the Rams
We touch on Goodell’s Personal Conduct Policy and how DeSean Jackson and Quinten Demps were fined $10,000 each for their “celebration” in the end zone after Jackson’s TD return.
Show Notes: Episode 34 for Thursday, October 2, 2008
The Philadelphia Eagles traveled to Chicago to take on the Bears and lose a heartbreaker 24-20. With a number of key players still out with injuries and way too many mistakes by players and coaches, the Eagles fall short. We talk about this game, some injury updates and look forward to the Washington Redskins coming to town this Sunday.
What we discussed:
The Philadelphia Eagles fall to the Chicago Bears 24-20.
Many mistakes added up to this loss, and we detail some of them
The Offensive Goal Line epic fail and ends with no touchdown
Lito Sheppard’s name isn’t spoken that often during the games
Email from Aussie Mike
David Akers performance and missing two long field goals, but we’re not worried
We talk about our next four games, and how we travel to the west coast twice
Washington Redskins come to Lincoln Financial Field here in Philly this week for a 1:00 game
Going to be a tough game for the Eagles, but a tougher game for the Redskins playing their second very hard game on the road, and maybe experiencing a letdown after beating the Cowboys
According to a VERY well-informed source within the Eagles organization, RB Brian Westbrook is still having significant pain when trying to cut side-to-side, and will not dress for the Eagles game this Sunday against the hated Redskins. But, according to the same source, WR Kevin Curtis should be available to see his first game action of the year. All I can say is, if you have QB Donovan McNabb in a Fantasy league, start him (like you wouldn’t anyway). Without Westbrook, and with Curtis, Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, Jason Avant AND DeSean Jackson running routes, the Birds might, MIGHT call 10 rushing plays this week total.
Please continue to check back with us for updates as we continue to break this story to Eagles Nation.
