Three down, one last to go. The Jets come to Philly for the last game, and we already know that any starters will get very little play time, if at all. So that leaves our new starting quarterback, Kevin Kolb, with no scores in the preseason. That sounds scary, but we agree that there is no need for panic.

There have been ups and downs so far, with a great hit by Asante Samuel, Vick’s usage with the first teams seems to be doing nothing but ruining their timing, DE Ricky Sapp placed on IR and questions about a few others’ performance. Most of what you have read and heard about this team so far is not very enthusiastic. Is it a young team still trying to find the gel, or smoke screens by the coaching staff? We will find out in a few more weeks when we meet the Green Bay Packers in the opener.

In the meantime, there is one more preseason game against the Jets. Then the final cuts happen. A lot of players will be fighting for a job, so it should be an interesting game to watch. Speaking of the Jets, Eric has been watching Hard Knocks and has really enjoyed it.

We also gave out a code in the chat room during the recording for our new EaglesFanCast iPhone App, and have one more to give. Listen for the EFC trivia question in the show, and be the first to email the correct answer to us, and you can win a code to download the App for free! Here are the rules: you have to be a resident of the U.S., and obviously you have to have an iPhone to download it.

Can’t wait? Then check it out here – http://bit.ly/EFC-App

Two Preseason weeks down with a win and a loss. We have seen our starters play essentially three quarters of football so far, the coaches holding back their tricks and some shuffling in the lineup. Our first team Offense has yet to score a touchdown, and we have seen plenty of rust as we do every year by this time. The third game is only a few days away, and we will see more of the starters for most of the game. Shortly after, the team gets cut to 75 players.

The team is definitely faster, the Offense is having struggles as we would expect from a revamped roster and new leader, the Defense looks better than anticipated and now we have two rookies in starting positions (Brandon Graham and Nate Allen). Joselio Hansen is probably on the bubble, and we somehow get back on the topic of Donovan McNabb again.

We read off an email from Dennis in Gettysburg, then address the rumors brewing about the Vikings looking for a trade with a few teams, including the Eagles. The last thing we talked about was the potential for an 18-game season next year, and some of the ramifications that comes with that.

One last thing! We now have an App in the iTunes App Store for everyone with an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad! This direct link is here – http://bit.ly/EFC-App

So check out our App, and throw us a rating in the App Store or on the podcast itself in iTunes to help spread the EaglesFanCast love. We really appreciate it.

Training Camp for the Philadelphia Eagles is well under way in Lehigh, PA, and our Birds have their first preseason football game this Friday. The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Philadelphia where we all get to see the new team on the field for the first time. There is much excitement building for this season, and reports are racing out of camp about the players, position changes, a flurry of injuries, and status updates.

This week we mainly talk about this building excitement and a few of the things that we have seen and hope to see moving forward. We also talk about the toughness of the Eagles camp and how we like what we see building in Kolb’s instincts so far.

Well we are finally back! After taking a few months off due to all kinds of reasons, we finally make our 2010 season return. Todd and Chuck chat with one of our newest site writers, Steve Brown all the way from the UK!

We talked about the start of Training Camp, the excitement of a new season, and touched on players such as Kevin Kolb, Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, Stewart Bradley, Brent Celek and the newest Eagle, Nate Allen, among others.

With the departure of Donovan McNabb, leaving Kolb and Vick, Chuck raised the question about the Wildcat and it’s presence (or lack of) in this year’s Offense.

Tommy Lawlor of Scouts Notebook, Eagles Blitz and PhiladelphiaEagles.com joins us for our annual Post-Draft show. With Tommy’s extensive insight, we break down how the Eagles Draft went down, how the new players fit in the system, the work the organization still has to do, and much more.

What we discussed:

The NFL 2010 Draft had great ratings and that probably means the new format will stay

DE Brandon Graham from Michigan was the Eagles first pick, and they aggressively went for him

S Nate Allen from USF was the second pick

LB Keenan Clayton from Oklahoma (4th round) might have real potential on this team

DE Ricky Sapp from Clemson was chosen in the 5th round and some are seeing him as a steal

Eagles picked a number of smart players in this Draft

RB Charles Scott from LSU is someone Tommy is happy about the Eagles picking

QB Mike Kafka from Northwestern was the Eagles 6th pick overall. He didn’t play a whole lot in college, but is talented.

S Kurt Coleman from Ohio State is a player that is starter material in a few short years

CB Trevard Lindley from Kentucky

The Philadelphia Eagles are just over a week away from the 2010 NFL Draft. This week’s show is all about that, of course. We welcome Tommy Lawlor back to EFC for the third year of this tradition. Eagles fans know Tommy from Eagles Blitz, his Draft expertise for years on Scouts Notebook, and of course from his work on PhiladelphiaEagles.com. Tommy always brings a huge amount of player and team insight to us this time of year, and he didn’t disappoint in the least.

We open the show with Tommy offering his opinions on the McNabb trade, then we hit the ground running. This year’s Draft is a very deep one, and we expect the Eagles to use their picks to move. One concern, though, is that the Eagles have enough holes on their roster for them to legitimately use all of the picks they have. What about moving around? It is always a possibility, but Tommy does not think that the Eagles try to deal Michael Vick, because he does not believe that any teams would be willing to give much for him in this Draft.

Without question, the Eagles needs this year are: cornerback, safety and linebacker. We are pretty much all in agreement that they take a cornerback as their first pick.

Well every Philadelphia Eagles fan worth their salt knows what we talked about this week. It was the epic trade of our Quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Division rival, Washington Redskins. We discuss what the move means to the team, to the coaches, to McNabb, to our new starting Quarterback Kevin Kolb, and hit on many other topics relating to the team, the Spring Cleaning that has been going on, and the upcoming NFL Draft.

What we discussed:

Donovan McNabb ends his career with the Philadelphia Eagles and starts his new chapter as a Washington Redskin

Do the Redskins really get that much better? Yes, but how much overall?

Eagles have 11 picks in this year’s NFL Draft

This team is a very young team now

If Kevin Kolb excels, there are a ton of Offensive weapons at his disposal

Defense is a big concern now

Why such a huge Spring Cleaning this year?

Our Philadelphia Eagles enter the 2010 Free Agency season not with a bang, a crackle or even a little hiss. As other teams scramble and write out big checks for star players, the Eagles organization looks within. They sign Jason Avant and Leonard Weaver, trade away Reggie Brown… and do not pick up anyone new. So far. This week we talk about how things are, how they appear, and some philosophical topics as they relate to the Eagles.

What we discussed this show:

Eagles cut favorite player Brian Westbrook a few weeks ago

Signings – receiver Jason Avant and fullback Leonard Weaver

Restructuring Stacy Andrews’ contract

Trade receiver Reggie Brown to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a reported sixth round draft pick

Todd rants about Donovan McNabb

Have the Eagles become a team that players may not want to come to, because of the Eagles Management team?

We try to sort out some of what is going on for Free Agency so far

Our first real show of the offseason, and we go after the biggest thing right now, the Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback situation. With Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick and Kevin Kolb on the team, it is pretty unanimous across fans and media alike that something has to give. All three of these players, it is believed, can start and lead a team in the NFL. The media has been relentless since the Eagles playoff loss to the Cowboys in their attempt to stir the pot and create rumor and speculation regarding Donovan McNabb returning for the 2010 NFL season. The general Eagles fan feeling is one of anger and predominantly that McNabb has had his chance to win a Super Bowl, and now it is time to move on. In this show, we try to sort through all of this, bring a few emails and voicemails from our listeners, and give our opinions on where the team should go.

What we discussed:

Rumors and speculation are rampant and the media has been desperately trying to fuel a controversy one way or another since the end of the season

Why is the fans’ anger toward McNabb worse this year?

Our friend Tommy Lawlor from Scouts Notebook wrote an amazingly in-depth look at McNabb’s career in Philly, including the ups and downs, the whole Quarterback situation, and is a must read for all Eagles fans.

We share our viewpoints on what we think the Eagles should do with our three Quarterbacks this before the 2010 season starts

Emails from Aussie Steve and Dennis, voicemails from DQ in New York and Richard in Louisiana
