Merry Christmas from EFC!

santahat.jpgDespite Todd doing the show on the first night of Hanukkah, Eric and I aren’t that selfless. No, we’re enjoying the Christmas evening with our kids and families, drinking eggnog, indulging in an obscene amount of cookies, and still untying those damn kids toys from their cardboard housings. We do it, though, with a bit more of a smile on our faces thanks to the Eagles win over the Saints on Sunday.

We’ll not talk of this tonight, though… we’re taking this day off, but fret not, we’re sobering up, and replacing the reindeer antlers with the midnight green and silver wings tomorrow night, Wednesday. You should have your show all ready for you first thing Thursday morning, if I edit it down in time.

Thanks for understanding, and we hope all of your holidays, whether they be Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Festivus, be joyous and full of good cheer.

Duuuuuuuuuuce!!

Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles will get to yell that one more time at The Linc on Sunday.

Duce Staley will retire as an Eagle and be celebrated by the team at halftime during Sunday’s Eagles-Giants game. Duce will be introduced by some former teammates and there will be highlight videos and ceremony during it. Personally I can’t wait.

Duce was the workhorse running back the team hadn’t seen in a while, and his resilience and toughness became almost legendary. I admired him as a player on and off the field, and his was the first jersey I bought for my daughter when she was really tiny. I think it’s definitely fitting that he retires as an Eagle in this 75th anniversary year. I know I’m now looking forward to this as much as the game itself on Sunday. I do hope the cold rains hold off until after the ceremony.

Here’s more information on the news, and more about Duce’s accomplishments as an Eagle on the Philadelphia Eagles website:
