Eagles re-sign J.R. Reed

The Eagles announced today that they have re-signed J.R. Reed, just 8 days after releasing him. To make room on the 53-man roster, the Eagles released OT Pat McCoy.

My first thought when I read this was that they were desperate to get another safety into the fold in light of B-Dawk’s neck stinger injury on Monday night. Although news this morning stated that Andy Reid did not anticipate Dawkins or Brian Westbrook (who apparently tweaked a knee) to miss any time, it was recently announced that B-West and B-Dawk missed practice today and that Westbrook is going to the doc to have his knee examined.

I think I share the same sentiment as all of you when I say, “Oh CRAP!!!!!”

Onion Sports post on Eagles, Fans

This is hysterical. I know Eric and I are big Onion fans, and the references and writing is awesome in this article. It’s worth the read, definitely. Enjoy!

For those of you not familiar with The Onion, it’s a satirical and completely fake news organization, um, on steroids. Think Barry Bonds… good, juiced and obnoxious as hell.
